1. About these terms

These Terms apply to services provided by Fixable (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you (“you”, “customer”). By booking or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

2. Our services

We provide mobile/on-site IT help across Melbourne including (examples):

  • new computer setup and data transfer
  • Wi-Fi/router/mesh setup
  • printer setup and troubleshooting
  • email/Microsoft 365 setup
  • virus/malware checks and basic security help
  • smart TV/streaming setup
  • one-on-one tech lessons

3. Booking and appointments

  • We’ll confirm appointment time by phone, SMS, or email.
  • Same-day service may be available depending on schedule and location.
  • If you need to change your booking, please notify us as early as possible.

4. Pricing, fees, and payment

  • Pricing may be hourly, fixed, or quoted depending on the job.
  • If we provide an estimate, it’s a guide only unless stated as a fixed quote.
  • Payment is due at time of service unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Cancellations and no-shows

You agree to give reasonable notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. If a technician attends and cannot access the premises or proceed due to customer unavailability, a call-out or minimum fee may apply (if communicated to you prior).

6. Your responsibilities

To help us do the job safely and efficiently, you agree to:

  • provide accurate information about the issue and devices
  • ensure safe, reasonable access to the device(s) and workspace
  • keep any required login details available (or be present to enter passwords)
  • tell us if a device has physical damage, overheating, liquid exposure, or safety issues
  • ensure you have permission to use software/accounts and access the device/data

7. Data, backups, and risk notes (important)

Some IT work carries risk (e.g., data transfer, reinstallations, malware cleanup).

  • Backups: You are responsible for maintaining backups of important data unless you have specifically engaged us to set up backups.
  • Data loss: While we take care, we are not liable for data loss caused by pre-existing faults, failing hardware, corrupted drives, malware, or issues outside our control.
  • Passwords: You may change passwords after service. We recommend it.

8. Third-party products and services

If you purchase or use third-party products/services (internet provider, modem/router, Microsoft/Apple accounts, cloud services), their terms also apply. We are not responsible for third-party outages or policies.

9. Consumer guarantees (Australia)

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including that services will be provided with due care and skill, and within a reasonable time where no time is set.
Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

10. Limits of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to re-supplying the services or paying the cost of having the services supplied again. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (e.g., loss of profit, business interruption), except where consumer law does not allow us to exclude it.

11. Privacy

We handle personal information in line with our Privacy Policy on this website. (APP guidance expects a clear policy explaining handling and complaints.)

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will appear on this page with the updated date.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be handled in Victorian courts/tribunals where permitted.
